The Study on Commonalities and Differences across Competition Laws in ASEAN and Areas Feasible for Regional Convergence is intended to fulfil ASEAN Competition Action Plan (ACAP) 2025 Outcome 5.1.1 of assessing “commonalities and differences in competition legislations” and Outcome 5.2.1 of developing “a strategy paper on areas reasonable for regional convergence”. The Study:

1. Provides a comprehensive overview of the commonalities and differences of the substantive competition rules in ASEAN;
2. Identifies possible areas to prioritise for convergence and supporting arguments; and
3. Makes initial recommendations on strategic options regarding the way forward, for
   consideration of the AEGC in the short to medium term.
