Myanmar Competition Commission (MMCC) has planned to designate 2023 as Competition Awareness Year aiming to advocate and develop competition policy and law for better business environment for all stakeholders. 

In February and April 2023, raising awareness events on Competition Policy and Law were held in Yangon and Mandalay. The advocacy events will also be carried out in other major cities. The objectives of conducting awareness events are as follows:

• To advocate the benefits and challenges of competition policy and culture to all stakeholders
• To ensure the businessmen and the civil servants to understand the current situation of Competition Policy and Law implementing in Myanmar
• To promote the advocacy and compliance with Competition Policy and Law

The awareness events were attended by the Vice Chairman and Members of Myanmar Competition Commission (MMCC). Also present at the events were responsible personnels from the commission office, representatives from government departments, representatives from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and Mandalay Region Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MRCCI); and businessmen from private industries.
