Public Advisory: Interruption of the Reglementary Periods for the Filing of Pleadings, Motions and Submissions to the Commission and the Payment of Fines or Penalties in view of the Enhanced Community Quarantine to Manage the COVID-19 Situation

Commission Resolution No. 008-2020: Interruption of the Reglementary Periods for the Filing of Pleadings, Motions and Submissions to the Commission and the Payment of Fines or Penalties in view of the Enhanced Community Quarantine to Manage the COVID-19 Situation
In view of the Enhanced Community Quarantine throughout Luzon, and in the interest of the welfare of PCC employees and stakeholders, the Commission has RESOLVED, as it hereby RESOLVES, the following:
(1) The reglementary periods for the filing of pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other submissions to the Commission are deemed interrupted from 16 March 2020 to 14 April 2020, or until such time the Enhanced Community Quarantine has been lifted;
(2) Whenever applicable, the reglementary period for the payment of fines or penalties is deemed interrupted from 16 March 2020 to 14 April 2020, or until such time the Enhanced Community Quarantine has been lifted; and
(3) The reglementary periods shall begin to run again on 15 April 2020, or the day after the Enhanced Community Quarantine has been lifted, whichever is applicable. Parties shall have the balance of their respective reglementary periods to file their submissions with, or to pay the fines and penalties imposed by, the Commission. Submissions and payments made during the remaining period shall be considered to have been timely made.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the Adjudication Division is hereby directed to send the proper notices to all parties concerned.
RESOLVED, FINALLY, that this Resolution shall take effect immediately and shall remain in force unless sooner modified or revoked.
