Malaysia was given the honour to host the 1st EU-ASEAN Competition Week which was held from 24th to 28th June 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, co-organised by the Malaysia Competition Commission ("MyCC"), Directorate-General of Competition of the European Commission and the ASEAN Secretariat.

This series of workshops was attended by representatives from the ASEAN and EU Member States and was the first in a series of annual dialogues on competition policy and enforcement between the two regional networks.. The competition week provided a platform for competition authorities to develop a common understanding on competition law developments and challenges faced in both regions, to identify the most effective methods in combating and deterring anti-competitive practices, as well as to strengthen cooperation in the field of competition law.
