In honor of the upcoming 25th anniversary of the University of Public Administration (Upper Myanmar) on February 7, 2024, a “3rd Conference on Learning and Development to Support Good Governance” paper-reading event was held on January 25 and 26, 2024, in a hybrid format at the university’s Yadana Hall.
The event was attended by officials from the Union Civil Service Board, members of the university advisory committee, invited guests, alumni from various ministries and organizations, paper presenters, university officials led by the university rector, faculty, staff, and trainees from current university programs.
A total of 22 papers were presented, divided into four sections—Ethics and Well-being, Human Resource Management and International Relations, Good Governance and Policy Recommendation, and Education/Training and Others. The presentations included two papers from the Russian Federation, seven from member countries of the ASEAN Network of Public Service Institutes, three from alumni who attended senior-level training at the university, three from other universities, one from the University of Public Administration (Lower Myanmar), and six from the Upper Myanmar University itself. Seven additional papers were presented in a poster section. Attendees engaged in discussions and Q&A sessions to gain insights on various topics.
During the event, Dr. Thuta Aung, a member of the Myanmar Competition Commission, delivered the keynote speech, discussing efforts by the Myanmar Competition Commission to create a fair and free competitive environment. Members and representatives from the Myanmar Competition Commission office attended the conference online.
