Directorate-General CCF in cooperation with the GIZ and Professor Ray Steinwall organized the Training Course on Competition and Consumer Protection Laws
Phnom Penh: From 31st October to 2nd November 2023, the Consumer Protection Competition and Fraud Repression Directorate-General (CCF) of the Ministry of Commerce, in cooperation with the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and Professor Ray Steinwall from the University of New South Wales in Australia, organized a Training Course on Competition and Consumer Protection Laws at the CCF Headquarter.
This training was presided over by H.E. Phan Oun, Delegate of the Royal Government, in charge as Director-General of CCF, alongside Ms. Kong Daren, Senior Advisor for Economic Cooperation and Private Sector, GIZ and Prof. Ray Steinwall. The training attracted approximately 70 participants, including Independent Commissioners of the Cambodia Competition Commission (CCC), CCF officials, and professors from various universities and institutions. The primary goal of this training initiative was to collaborate with universities and institutions to explore the potential inclusion of Competition and Consumer Protection Laws in undergraduate curricula, leveraging the insights gained during the training. Additionally, the training aimed to familiarize professors with the fundamental concepts of Competition and Consumer Protection Policies and Laws equipping them with a framework to effectively educate students in the future.
This training session marked the inaugural collaborative effort between the CCF Directorate-General of the Ministry of Commerce and the GIZ in 2023, focusing on educating stakeholders from universities and institutions on Competition and Consumer Protection Laws and Policies. The three-day training, conducted to accompany these Course Guides is a truly transformative experience for all participants.
