Toshiaki Takigawa is Professor, teaching Competition Law as well as International Trade Law at Faculty of Law, Kansai University (Osaka, Japan). He has published articles on comparative analyses of Japanese, U.S. and EU competition laws, and their relations with intellectual property rights.
He has been frequent speakers at international conferences in Asia, the US, and Europe on competition law and policies, including 10th ASCOLA (Academic Society for Competition Law) Conference (Tokyo, 2015) as well as 8th ASCOLA Conference (Università del Salento, Italy, 2013); Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS, Beijing China, 2011); Seoul National University (2011 and 2015). He, before entering academic career, had worked for Fair Trade Commission of Japan, as well as for Japanese Delegation to Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) at Paris. He holds Master of Business Administration from University of California at Berkeley, as well as LLB/Law from Kyoto University (Japan).
He was a Fulbright grantee scholar at George Washington University Law School, Washington D.C. (2009-2010), and was a visiting scholar at University of California Berkeley School of Law (2012-2013). He is a member of Advisory Board of the Antitrust Bulletin, as well as members of Academic Society for Competition Law (ASCOLA), Asian Competition Forum (ACF) and Asian Competition Association (ACA).
