Workshop on Competition Assessments Addressing Market Distortions

The Philippine Competition Commission (PCC), in collaboration with the World Bank Group (WBG), conducted a two-day workshop on using Competition Assessments as Tools in Addressing Market Distortions last Dec. 12-13. International experts, including World Bank Group Senior Economist and Competition Policy Specialist Dr. Graciela Miralles, World Bank Group Economist Sara Nyman, Chief Economist of the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce of Colombia Juan Pablo Herrera, and Senior Telecommunications Expert Martin Cave of Imperial College Business School, shared their insights on assessing market dynamics and performing competition policy assessments with the goal of curbing anti-competitive practices among industries around the globe. Participants include high-level PCC officials, employees, partner government agencies, and competition specialists from the academe.
