As part of its constant commitment towards a more effective enforcement of competition policy, the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC), together with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the US Department of Justice, organize a 3-day technical consultation which covers a cursory review of electric power markets in the US and various approaches/methods in analyzing competition in the sector. The workshop tackles discussions on the structure and economics of wholesale power markets, case studies, and simulation exercises to develop the skills of investigation teams, an overview of the Philippine Electricity Market, and discussion of local power market issues.
